The Rider Core Mini Course was developed from Clare’s highly successful in-person Rider Core Courses, where riders learned how posture, movement, stability, and compensation affect riding performance.

Those live courses included rider assessments, functional movement analysis, and mechanical horse demonstrations.

Because accurately assessing riders requires hands-on observation, movement testing, and real-time coaching, that level of assessment is not included in this online version.

Instead, the Rider Core Mini Course has been specifically designed to give riders the understanding they need to:

  • Better Understand their Body and Movement Patterns
  • Recognise Common Compensations and Stability Problems
  • Improve Awareness, Control, and Function
  • Make more Informed Decisions about How to Improve

This is called a Mini Course because it focuses specifically on the educational foundations riders need to better understand their body, movement, posture, and stability.

It has been adapted from Clare’s original in-person Rider Core Course, which included hands-on rider assessment, movement analysis, and practical demonstrations that cannot be fully replicated online.

Instead, the Rider Core Mini Course has been designed to give riders the understanding they need to finally make sense of their struggles in the saddle — helping them think differently about movement, recognise compensation patterns, and make more meaningful changes to how they function and ride.

WHY THIS COURSE DOESN’T INCLUDE EXERCISES

This course is designed to teach you what is happening in your body and why it matters in the saddle.

It does not include exercise programming because the purpose of this course is not to throw random movements at you before you understand the problem.

Riders don’t need random exercises.

They need to understand:

  • Why their Posture Affects Stability
  • Why their Core may not be Functioning Well
  • Why "Engage Your Core" is not even a thing!
  • Whic type of Training is Likely to Help them Next

I work with riders worldwide — from everyday leisure riders rebuilding confidence, to ambitious athletes preparing for elite-level challenges.

In 2012, a fall from my horse Annick changed everything.

For the first time in my riding life, I felt anxious, uncertain, and unsure of what the future held.

But my commitment to my horses — and my refusal to accept that this was “just how it was now” — drove me to find better answers. Not quick fixes. Not generic fitness. But training that truly supported the rider’s body.

In 2016, RiderCise® was born.

Since then, the rider-specific workouts I’ve developed have helped thousands of riders globally improve posture, rebuild confidence, return from injury, and ride with strength and control again.

I attended the course to be able to learn more about the core how it works. Issues that arise and ways to correct problems for myself and coaching clients.

My biggest learning point was how unfit/un-supple I am! Even tho I ride a lot, do lots of ground work, and have an active job I was aching the next day. Also theory side exactly what is involved in the core
